A quick note on refrigerants:

Most of the fridges in this list use R600a or isobutane. Which studies show to be more efficient than R134 as a refrigerant!

1. PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge 50L PPBF555A

PowerPac’s Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A is mostly quiet in operation although it does make some odd noises occasionally. If you’re not a light sleeper, you can get away with putting it in your bedroom.

PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A Silver

It does not generate a lot of heat either.

And the mini fridge consumes around 175kWh per year. Which is slightly lower than the cheaper Midea Mini Bar Fridge 50L, MS50 (210 kWh/year) by comparison!

It’s cold (around 4°C) but takes a while to make ice (lowest temperature is -3°C). You don’t get an ice tray with this mini fridge.

The levels are well divided despite the compact profile of the mini fridge.

But if build quality is important to you, the overall finishing of the PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A can leave you wanting. Cosmetic defects like scratches are often unavoidable.

There is a child lock but it’s more cumbersome than useful. You might end up removing it altogether as it causes the door to drag when you want to open/ close it!

At ~S$160, the PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A is an affordable mini fridge that is compact on the outside, but spacious on the inside.

It’s a good size for an office! And a worthy option if you want a black mini fridge!

PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A - Black

2. Baseus Zero Space Refrigerator 8L – CRBX01

Without a doubt, the Baseus Zero Space Refrigerator 8L, CRBX01 is one of the tiniest portable mini bar fridges you can find in Singapore! And quite adorable too!

Baseus Zero Space Refrigerator 8L - CRBX01

It only weighs 3.5kg and looks attractive on a bedside table or even your office table! It’s also quiet and more spacious than it looks! For drinks, you can fit up to 4 or 6 cans.

But before you give in to impulse shopping, we want to let you know a few things:

Firstly, it eats a lot of power for a tiny fridge. It’s rated for 60W where a 50L fridge like the PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A is rated at 70W.

Secondly, it won’t get as cold as a regular fridge. But it’s cold enough (~10°C) to make a difference for skin care and drinks! Some use it to store breast milk overnight.

Finally in a fridge this small, there’s no temperature regulation. So the temperature fluctuates with the environment (e.g., air conditioning, hot weather, etc).

After 3-4 days, there will be condensation inside the fridge. A quick fix for this is to keep a cloth inside the fridge to soak up the water.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a short-term space saving solution for a mini fridge, the Baseus Zero Space Refrigerator 8L, CRBX01 will fit the bill!

3. Midea Mini Bar Fridge 50L – MS50

Midea’s Mini Bar Fridge, MS50 is the cheapest 50L mini bar fridge in this list. About S$10 cheaper than the PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A.

Midea Mini Bar Fridge MS50 Interior

For that it doesn’t get very cold (lowest temperature is 0°C) but there is a mini freezer compartment to make some ice. Together with a small ice tray. And a tray for up to 6 eggs too.

You can expect the usual fridge sounds from this unit though it’s still hardly audible. And again like the PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A, there’s no interior light.

Be wary that the outside can feel hot after a few days’ of use too. On another note, this fridge could do with some rubber feet to keep it from sliding when you open or close it.

But if you just need an inconspicuous fridge (and not freezer) to keep drinks, snacks, or fresh produce cool, the Midea Mini Bar Fridge, MS50 is excellent value for money.

4. Tecno Mini Bar Fridge 49L – TFR 48

Tecno is a local brand that started selling home appliances as far back as the 1960s. Their portfolio includes cooker hoods, stoves, ovens, washers and fridges.

Tecno Mini Bar Fridge TFR 48 - Interior

The Tecno Mini Bar Fridge 49L, TFR 48 is their smallest and cheapest model. In spite of that, the small fridge is very generous on the inside. It does have 2 energy ticks as well.

Moreover, if you want a discreet looking mini fridge, you might like that the brand name is not obvious on the front of the Tecno Mini Bar Fridge 49L, TFR 48!

However, there’s nothing remotely outstanding about this fridge that would make us recommend it over the similarly sized (and cheaper) Midea Mini Bar Fridge, MS50.

Like the other 50L fridges, it too lacks an internal light.

Tecno Mini Bar Fridge 49L - TFR 48

Pros:

  • Spacious interior, compact exterior
  • Energy saving rating is good (2 ticks)
  • Simple design
  • Not too expensive

  • Warranty: 1 year
  • Price: ~S$199

5. Farfalla Mini Bar Fridge 46L – FR-47R

Farfalla does not come to mind for the question of which brand of fridge is the best in Singapore.

FARFALLA Mini Bar Fridge FR-47R Interior

However, their Farfalla Mini Bar Fridge 46L, FR-47R has a lock! A feature that is not present with the other 50L mini bar fridges in this list! The door is reversible too.

But this fridge uses R134a refrigerant – not the most environmentally friendly. Although it does have a 2-tick energy rating.

It’s fairly quiet in operation. And while the freezer is inept at storing ice cream, you can still use it to keep drinks and other dairy products cold.

Mind that the back of the fridge is exposed. And the base is rather wobbly. It doesn’t help that the fridge just weighs a mere 15kg.

Still, since it has a lock and can store a lot for its size, the Farfalla Mini Bar Fridge 46L, FR-47R is suitable for use at hostels, rental situations, and office use! As long as you don’t need a freezer!

FARFALLA Mini Bar Fridge 46L - FR-47R

Pros:

  • With a lock
  • Lightweight
  • Energy saving rating at 2 ticks
  • With a reversible door
  • Quiet (intermittent humming)
  • With a dedicated ice compartment

  • Temperature Range: 5-15°C
  • Refrigerant: R134a
  • Energy Efficiency: 2 Ticks
  • Dimensions (L x W x H): 43.6 x 49.5 x 47 cm
  • Weight: 15kg
  • Warranty: 2 years
  • Price: ~S$169

6. EuropAce Bar Fridge 50L – ER9250

If your top priority is saving on the electric bill, don’t get the EuropAce Bar Fridge 50L, ER9250.

Europace Bar Fridge ER9250 Interior

Its power rating is double that of the similar sized PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A (130W vs 70W). Both models are in the same price range too (~S$160).

Yet, the EuropAce Bar Fridge 50L, ER9250 does not get as cold as the PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A. Its minimum temperature is 6°C while the latter can achieve below zero.

It has some good points – it’s spacious with numerous layers. And the bottle compartment is sturdy enough to hold two 1.5L bottles.

Unless you’re a fan of EurospAce appliances:

There’s no real reason to get the EuropAce Bar Fridge 50L, ER9250 when you can get either the PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A or Midea Mini Bar Fridge 50L, MS50 instead!

Europace Bar Fridge 50L - ER9250

7. PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge 71L PPF85

Among this round up, the PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPF85 is the one you should get if you are looking for a mini fridge with a freezer in Singapore!

The freezer capacity is 22L, which is almost double that of the larger BEKO Bar Fridge 120L, TSE1283 offers (13L freezer)!

And it is slightly cheaper than the similar sized Electrolux Mini Bar Fridge 85L, EUM0900SA.

Moreover, the lowest temperature that the PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPF85 reaches is -18°C (according to the specifications).

As for energy efficiency, it’s got 2 ticks. And is rated at 75W, only slightly higher than the smaller 50L PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPBF555A (at 70W).

Noise is not an issue but do take note of the door direction before you get this as it is not reversible.

The PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPF85 is a very decent size for a couple or single household.  Or if you have a small kitchen and don’t need a large fridge!

The chiller section is around 4°C. And you’ll find that it’s notably colder at the back of the fridge. Condensation and frost tends to build up at the back too.

PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPF85

Pros:

  • Internally lit
  • Not noisy
  • Huge freezer capacity
  • Spacious
  • 2 energy ticks
  • Reasonably priced

Cons:

  • Door direction is not reversible
  • Only comes in grey
  • Smaller than it looks
  • Manual defrost
  • Capacity: 71L
  • Power: 75W
  • Temperature Range: -18 to 10°C

8. Electrolux Mini Bar Fridge 85L – EUM0900SA

At close to S$400, the Electrolux Mini Bar Fridge 85L, EUM0900SA is by far the most expensive mini fridge in this list.

Electrolux Mini Bar Fridge EUM0900SA Interior

But it does have a lot of chiller capacity, not so much freezer capacity (6L). For more freezer capacity, you’d be better off with the cheaper PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPF85!

The Electrolux Mini Bar Fridge 85L, EUM0900SA does struggle with making ice too.

As a small office fridge, it is ideal for keeping everybody’s packed lunch fresh and drinks cool. With sensible enough energy savings too (2 ticks).

Besides the freezer compartment, there is actually a crisper drawer for fresh produce. And inner lighting as well!

When it comes to maintenance or repairs, you don’t have to worry about where to find fridge repair in Singapore because Electrolux have its service center on Braddell Road. Hopefully, you won’t need to call them up!

Electrolux Mini Bar Fridge 85L - EUM0900SA

Pros:

  • Keeps a lot in the chiller (i.e. optimized storage)
  • Interior is lit
  • 2 energy ticks
  • Classic design
  • Reasonably quiet

Cons:

  • Small freezer compartment
  • Expensive
  • Capacity: 85L (6L Freezer)
  • Energy Consumption: 190kWh/Year
  • Refrigerant: R600a
  • Energy Efficiency: 2 Ticks
  • Dimensions (L x W x H): 47.4 x 44.7 x 83.1 cm
  • Weight: 21kg
  • Warranty: 2 years
  • Price: ~S$399

9. BEKO Bar Fridge 120L – TSE1283

This is the largest mini fridge in the list and with a reversible door and lighting as well.

BEKO Bar Fridge TSE1283 Interior

The TSE1283 by BEKO is quiet (37 to 40 dBA) and despite its substantial interior of 120L, it’s not a bulky fridge.

And like all the mini fridges in this list, the TSE1283 doesn’t have auto defrost.

But it does have something called MinFrost which discourages frost build up. This in turn reduces the defrost frequency of the fridge (i.e. lower maintenance).

Putting the temperature on max causes the back of the chiller to get almost freezer-like. But you don’t have to resort to that since there is an adequately sized freezer section (13L).

Just be sure to check that the door is completely closed to prevent ice from forming. Frost along the inner back walls is not uncommon.

The single door may prove to be a disadvantage if you do want to keep frozen food separate from other chilled goods.

Note: Door direction is reversible.

In that case, you can opt for double door models like the PowerPac Mini Bar Fridge PPF85! Which also happens to have twice the freezer capacity!

But otherwise, the BEKO Bar Fridge 120L, TSE1283 is worth considering for smaller households who need more chiller and freezer space!

BEKO Bar Fridge 120L - TSE1283 - White

Pros:

  • Compact despite large capacity
  • Acceptable noise level
  • Chiller and freezer sections work as expected
  • Well lit
  • Inexpensive for the capacity

Cons:

  • Single door may hinder efficiency of freezer
  • Capacity: 120L (13L Freezer)
  • Energy Consumption: 139kWh/year
  • Temperature Range: ~2-7°C
  • Energy Efficiency: 2 Ticks
  • Dimensions (L x W x H): 54 x 59 x 84 cm
  • Weight: 28kg
  • Warranty: 2 years
  • Price: ~S$329
